Timothy and Sarah: The Homemade Cake Contest

By Midori Basho

A tale of civic action among a town of mice teaches lessons about teamwork, initiative, good sportsmanship, and the importance of relationships between old and young

TY_JK_01How does a town of mice restore an old, rundown house thought to be haunted to what it used to be—a vibrant community cafe? They hold a homemade cake-baking
contest, that’s how!

Join twins Timothy and Sarah as they help their mother and her friend Miss Flora rally the townspeople around a worthy cause. Brightly colored illustrations, rich with detail, match the cheer of the spirited mice in this tale of community action.

Young readers will learn about teamwork, good sportsmanship, the importance of
relationships between the old and young, and, of course, how to make a delicious, prizewinning cake.
